about:

Bronze Medal Winner, 2023 Golden Bean Coffee Roasting Championship

Coffee Review legend Kenneth Davids calls this 93 point award-winner, "a straight-ahead, comfortable Guatemala cup with a throughline of sweet nut and crisp apple notes and an especially rich mouthfeel." (Coffee Review, May 2023)

This coffee is named after the farm where it is grown: La Colina, which means ‘The Hill’ in Spanish. Funny enough, Antonio Medina’s farm sits on top of a hill. Antonio inherited the land from his father, who named the farm and distributed individual parcels of his larger farm to his children.

Initially, Antonio planted only basic grains like corn and beans. However, he notes that it was always his dream to own a coffee farm. In 1991, he planted his first coffee tree. Slowly but surely, Antonio added more trees and increased his production. After 25 years, Antonio concludes that his dream has come true. Not only is he a coffee farmer, but he produces exceptionally high-quality specialty coffee. His perseverance has paid off.
