light roast | delicate & sweet
about:
Brazil is the world's leading coffee producer, known mostly for it's nutty, full bodied beans that are primarily used in blends. Mallard Coffee owners Alexis Lessa and Sander Ribeiro Lessa have flipped that narrative, importing some of the highest quality Brazilian coffee we have ever tasted.
This gem comes from the Pimenta Family in the mountains of Espirito Santo. They planted their first coffee seed in 1984 upon acquiring their first farm in Venda Nova do Imigrante. Now they have three generations working in their coffee business. The entire process, from planting to sale, is divided among the family members. The youngest son and his mother are responsible for the processing and drying area, while the others work in production, quality control and coffee sales. The family always seeks to learn and apply new techniques to improve their product, culminating in a first place finish in the 2020 Brazilian Cup of Excellence. The Pimenta family coffees are characterized by a long finish, creamy body, and flavors of honey, brown sugar, white rose, orange, loquat and curau de milho, a traditional Brazilian sweet corn pudding.
